COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, POLLING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize real-time communication and little communication traffic in the instant messaging environment wherein such communication from the outside as an intranet is disturbed by a firewall. SOLUTION: An instant message client 11 comprises a message communication unit 27 capable of changing a polling interval of HTTP polling, and a communication control unit 26 for specifying a time interval of HTTP polling on the basis of schedule information for showing a schedule which should access instant message server 12 frequently. Before the arrival of a schedule shown in schedule information, the communication control unit 26 gives the message communication unit 27 the directions that the polling to an instant message server 12 may be performed with a polling interval of a long interval. At the time of the arrival of a schedule, it gives the message communication unit 27 the directions to perform the polling with a polling interval of a short interval. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
