Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a solar cell by which a rear-face junction type solar cell having an excellent photoelectric conversion efficiency can be manufactured at a low cost and at high yield. SOLUTION: The method is used to manufacture a solar cell which has a p-type area and an n-type area on one side of a crystal sheet. The method includes a step wherein one side or both sides of the main surface of a cooled substrate is brought into contact with a melted liquid of a sheet material containing a semiconductor material, and the crystal of the sheet material is grown on the substrate to form a crystal sheet; a step to form p-type and n-type areas on one side of the crystal sheet on the substrate; a step to form electrodes on the p-type and n-type areas; and a step to peel off the crystal sheet from the substrate.
