CAN TYPE LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a can type lithium secondary battery in which safety is improved by preventing the battery from the explosion or the like by reducing the heat generated in the secondary battery. SOLUTION: The can type lithium secondary battery includes an electrode assembly having a first electrode plate 215, a second electrode plate 213 and a separator 214, a can containing the electrode assembly 212 and a can 210 for containing an electrolyte, a cap plate 240, terminal plate 260, an electrode terminal 230, a gasket tube 246, and a cap assembly 210a to be combined with the upper opening of the can 210 to seal the can. An electrode terminal 230 is formed to be contacted with the upper plane of the cap plate 240 when the lithium secondary battery is deformed by a vertical compression. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
