Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile information terminal for displaying information associated with the arrival of calls during absence and unread electronic mail letters recognizably in an oblique direction while suppressing peeping of screen display in the oblique direction. SOLUTION: A main display section 101 can be switched between a wide visual field mode and a narrow visual field mode, two or more pattern regions are formed in its display area, in the case of the wide visual field mode, the whole display area has a wide angle of visibility, and in the case of the narrow visual field mode, a narrow angle of visibility is adopted for regions other than a pattern region selected on the basis of display information of the main display section 101. Thus, a user can recognize the pattern caused by the narrow angle of visibility when viewed in the oblique direction in the narrow visual field mode, and the mobile information terminal can inform the user located in the oblique direction about prescribed display information while suppressing peeping of the screen display.
