Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode active material made of zinc alloy powder that exhibits high corrosion resistance and high electrode reactivity by optimizing the composition and particle size distribution of the zinc alloy powder. SOLUTION: The negative electrode active material for an alkaline battery is made of zinc alloy powder including fine powder of less than 150 mesh and coarse powder of 150 mesh or greater. The zinc alloy powder contains 300 to 800 ppm In and 100 to 500 ppm Bi. The fine powder contains a total of 80 to 400 ppm of at least one selected from the group consisting of Al, Ca, Ba, Sr, Mg and Ga. The coarse powder contains a total of 50 ppm or less of at least one selected from the group consisting of Al, Ca, Ba, Sr, Mg and Ga. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
