Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain pressure rise in a battery by making a cathode absorb hydrogen gas generated at an anode, in a button type alkaline battery containing zinc or a zinc alloy in its anode. SOLUTION: Manganese dioxide or silver oxide containing manganese dioxide is used as a cathode active material, and a hydrogen storage alloy is made contained in a cathode. An average particle size of the hydrogen storage alloy is to be 10 to 50 microns, with a content of 0.5 to 5% by mass.
