PRINTING SYSTEM, AND METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system and a method and control program therefor that set a vicinity of perforations of continuous paper as print-inhibited areas, and if print data is printed in the print-inhibited areas of the continuous paper, detect it to notify the defective print result and record it in an event log as event information. SOLUTION: In the printing system, a host device sends and prints print data to an electrophotographic printer using continuous paper. The printer comprises a determination means for determining whether there is a print-inhibited area violation in which the print data sent from the host device exist in a print-disabled area of the continuous paper, and a notification means for, if the determination means determines that there is a print-inhibited area violation, notifying the print-inhibited area violation to the host device. The host device comprises an analysis means for analyzing the print-inhibited area violation notified by the printer, and a storage means for storing the print-inhibited area violation analyzed by the analysis means as log information.
