HAIR TREATING COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent characteristics such as an improvement in uniformity and holding power of waves and prevention of damage received by hair in a hair treating composition such as a hair curling agent. SOLUTION: Effects on the improvement in uniformity and holding properties of the waves and the reduction of damage to the hair are provided by formulating pure un-hydrolyzed keratin or hydrolyzed keratin with the hair treating composition such as the hair curling agent. In the keratin or hydrolyzed keratin, a disulfide moiety in cystine is converted into an S-sulfonated cysteine. Furthermore, the S-sulfonated cysteine is reacted with S-sulfonated cysteine produced from the cystine in hair keratin which is not completely returned in operation of a treatment with the curling agent to recover the disulfide bond. Thereby, the waves are uniformized and the holding properties are improved. The outside and inside of the hair are repaired to reduce hair damage received from a bleaching agent, an oxidation hair dye, etc., by combining a high-molecular keratin with a low-molecular keratin.
