Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily access an optional service, without being conscious of network complexity. SOLUTION: A service management system can provide services to a mobile user, by using a combination of network platforms (10). The system uses "Cooperating Intelligent Software Agent" technology in a heterogeneous agent architecture (25) for providing sufficient flexibility to deal with the changing network constraints, for instance as the user moves. In an example, a fixed broadband network is used, in combination with radio transmitters of a mobile network. The agent architecture (25), involving autonomous agents working cooperatively, forms a layered system using the underlying fixed network for inter-agent communication. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
