Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyether polyol, comprising converting a polyether polyol diester into the polyether polyol, by which the polyether polyol can stably be produced, while controlling the production of deposits to the inner wall of a reactor. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polyether polyol, comprising the alcoholysis reaction of the polyether polyol diester with a 1 to 4C alkanol in the presence of an alkali metal alkoxide catalyst to convert into the polyether polyol, is characterized by returning the 1 to 4C alkanol contained in the produced polyether polyol to the reaction system in a state that a water content in the alkanol is ≤100 ppm.
