SOLUTION: The pearlescent pigment is obtained by smoothly covering a flake substrate having 100-2,000 μm particle size and 0.1-1 μm thickness with an iron compound, wherein a specified amount of divalent anion is added to slurry or an iron salt solution by a method based on the neutralization titration method.
