GATEWAY DEVICE AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM INCLUDING GATEWAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gateway device and a communication system including the gateway device for automatically revising a transmission period of a frame in a way of suppressing a bus load factor lower in the communication system built up by interconnecting a plurality of networks with the gateway device. SOLUTION: The gateway device 1 connected to a first bus line 101 to which a transmission terminal is connected and to a second bus line 102 to which a reception terminal is connected and providing a baud rate lower than a baud rate in the first bus line 101 comprises: a reception section 4 for receiving a signal from the transmission terminal; a transmission section 5 for transmitting the signal from the transmission terminal to a receiver; a bus load measurement means 9 for measuring bus load states in the first and second bus lines 101, 102; a reception period measurement means 7 for measuring the signal period received by the reception section 4; a transmission period setting means 8 for setting a transmission period from the transmission section 5 on the basis of the reception period measured by the reception period measurement means 7; and a transmission period revision means 10 for revising the transmission period set by the transmission period setting means 8 in response to a result of the detection by the bus load detection means 9.
