Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water retentive pavement structure having a stable water retentive function over a long period, superior in workability, easy in maintenance, and superior in economic efficiency. SOLUTION: A water impermeable layer 2 is formed on a roadbed 1, and an aggregate layer 3 mixed with a water retentive material 3b is arranged on its layer, and the aggregate layer 3 is formed as a water retentive part. A water absorbing material 4 is laid on an upper part of the aggregate layer 3 for replenishing moisture to a water retentive block 5 of a road surface by sucking up moisture held in the aggregate layer 3 while preventing washing-away of joint sediment. The water retentive block 5 and a water permeable block 6 for constituting the road surface, are arranged in an upper part of the water absorbing material 4 so as to mixedly exist. Rainwater flows in the aggregate layer 3 in the shape of mainly permeating its part from a water permeable block 6 part. When the temperature of the road surface rises, the moisture is mainly vaporized from a surface of the water retentive block 5, and a temperature rise in the road surface is restrained by heat of vaporization.
