RESIN COMPOSITION FOR METAL SURFACE TREATMENT AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new water-based resin composition for metal surface treatment agents which gives excellent surface hardness, scratch resistance, processability, corrosion resistance and adhesion to coating films by coating it on non-chrome-treated metals such as steel plates plated with aluminum, aluminum alloys, magnesium, magnesium alloys, zinc, zinc alloys and aluminum/zinc alloys, especially a water-based resin composition which forms a coated film having a high molecular weight three dimensinal network structure and is suitable for use in surface treatment agents and primers. SOLUTION: The water-based resin composition for metal surface treatment agents contains (III) a self water-dispersing resin having a high molecular weight three dimensional network structure consisting of (I) a self water-dispersing acrylized aromatic epoxy resin including a copolymer of (II) a copolymerizable ethylenic unsaturated monomer and/or an aliphatic conjugated diene monomer and (IV) a hardener as the indispensable ingredients.
