STEERING WHEEL POSITION ADJUSTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering wheel position adjusting device capable of less changing the operational touch (operational feeling), in particular, before and after the telescopic adjustment, and maintaining excellent operational touch in a steering device having a tilt/telescopic adjustment mechanism. SOLUTION: A column housing B with a column pipe 9 pierced therethrough and fixed thereto is attached to a fixed bracket A movably and fixingly in the axial direction, and the column pipe 9 is slidably inserted in an insertion hole part 11 of a pivot housing C which is rockingly and fixingly attached to a front side in the axial direction of the column housing B. An upper shaft 15 jointly movable with the column pipe is provided in the column pipe 9. A lower shaft 16 is provided on the pivot housing C, and the upper shaft 15 transmits the rotation to the lower shaft 16, and the upper and lower shafts are slidably joined with each other.
