Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sucking device for a surface material which can be widely used and has a long service life. SOLUTION: The sucking device for a surface material, particularly a paper sheet for a paper sheet processing machine, favorably a paper sheet printing machine, is provided with at least one sucking band endlessly circulating and having a sucking opening for sucking the sucking material. In a type having at least one wheel rotating at the same speed as the sucking band is correspondingly arranged to the sucking band, the wheel 12 is formed as a sucking wheel 13 and includes a sucking element 29 which is made to communicate with the longitudinal direction sucking flow channel 30 communicating with the sucking opening 36 of the sucking band 3.
