MANUFACTURING METHOD OF HEAD STACK ASSEMBLY AND MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE HAVING THE HEAD STACK ASSEMBLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of a head stack assembly in which deformation is effectively suppressed and to provide a magnetic disk device having the head stack assembly. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method is for a head stack assembly 110 which has a pair of base plates 150, that mount a pair of suspensions, onto the both sides of an arm 144. The method has a step in which the pair of the base plates 150 respectively have bosses 31 having openings is inserted into the both sides of the through-hole of the arm 144 and a processing member whose size is larger than the openings is passed through the openings of the bosses within the through-hole in one direction so as to fasten, by caulking, the pair of the base plates 150 to the arm 144. Moment around a neutral surface received by the arm 144 is made less than the moment around the neutral surface received by the arm 144 after the caulking and fastening by the processing member.
