Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device which can effectively prevent curling of a printing paper from occurring. SOLUTION: In this label printer 1, when a specified period of time has passed from a point of the latest printing completion, a platen roller 33 is driven, and a label paper LP is carried in two direction of the normal carrying direction and the reverse carrying direction by the same carrying distance. Thus, the label paper LP is slightly let out from a label roll on a label holding shaft 31. As a result, the tension of the label paper LP which is applied to a guide roller 32 is softened, and therefore, the curling in the label paper LP resulting from the contact with the guide roller 32 can effectively be prevented from occurring.
