OPTICAL PICKUP, OPTICAL DISK APPARATUS AND BEAM SPLITTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup capable of enhancing utilizing efficiency of an optical beam with a simple structure, to provide an optical disk apparatus and to provide a beam splitter. SOLUTION: The optical pickup is provided with an objective lens condensing an optical beam emitted from a beam source to irradiate an optical disk and receiving a reflection beam reflected by the optical disk and a polarization beam splitter transmitting the optical beam emitted from the beam source to make the optical beam incident in the objective lens and reflecting the reflection beam received by the objective lens to split the beams into the optical beam and the reflection beam. In the polarization beam splitter, P polarization transmittance in the peripheral edge part of the optical beam is set to be higher than the P polarization transmittance in the center part of the optical beam.
