Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump water heater capable of improving usability by minimizing the influence by lowering of heating capacity caused by frost formation. SOLUTION: A temperature of an air heat exchanger is detected, a defrost starting temperature and a required defrost temperature lower than the defrost starting temperature are determined, when the temperature is between the defrost starting temperature and the required defrost temperature, the defrosting operation is performed after storing the hot water in a tank, and then the operation is stopped, and when the temperature is lower than the required defrost temperature, alarm display is performed, the defrosting operation is performed with priority, then the hot water is stored in the tank, and the operation is stopped.
