RECORDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device remarkably miniaturized to reduce costs, while maintaining the function of the device. SOLUTION: This recording device has a recording means for forming an image on a sheet material separated and conveyed by a separating means, and a detecting means for detecting a tip position and a rear end position of the sheet material between the separating means and a conveying and delivering means. The recording means is arranged between the separating means and the conveying and delivering means, and determines whether the sheet material can be conveyed to the conveying and delivering means or not on the basis of amount of rotation of a feeding roller when the detecting means detects tip position of the sheet material separated and conveyed by the separating means. In the case wherein a determination that the sheet material can not be conveyed to the conveying and delivering means is done, the feeding roller is reversely rotated to return to the initial position, and thereafter, paper feeding is performed again.
