Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the quality of an image by suppressing a noise produced on the image to be engraved. SOLUTION: A frequency-characteristic correcting filter circuit 12 is interposed in a path where an image signal output from an image signal generating circuit 10 is input into an engraving head 18. The circuit 12 is in such frequency characteristics as to correct fluctuation in the frequency characteristics of the engraving head 18.
