Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus by which power consumption can be reduced while appropriately controlling electrolysis reaction without using high-priced measuring instrument, or the like. SOLUTION: The water treatment apparatus 1 treats nitrogen compounds or phosphorus compounds in water to be treated and is provided with at least a pair of electrodes 22, 23 (electron pair 8) at least a part of which is immersed in the water to be treated, an ORP sensor 13 for detecting oxidation reduction potential (ORP) of the water to be treated and a controlling device 20 for controlling current supply to the electrodes. The controlling device 20 controls current supply to the electrodes 22, 23 based on degree of change of oxidation reduction potential of the water to be treated detected by the ORP sensor 13.
