WEB GUIDE DEVICE AND DRYING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying device capable of efficiently drying a coating on a web or the web itself while stably guiding the web in running without damaging the web. SOLUTION: A web guide device 14 having guide rolls 17 to guide the undersurface of the web 13 horizontally running in a drying chamber is arranged. Each guide roll is so structured as to have large-diameter cylinder parts 17a contacting and supporting both ends of the web and a small-diameter cylinder part 17b without contacting the web. The drying device is so structured that hot air 21 is spewed out of each slit nozzle 20 to a space 18 between the web and the small-diameter cylinder part 17b and rapidly passed to make the web 13 stably run without moving up and down by reducing static pressure P2in that part; and the web is heated by the hot air and heated by spewing out or the like of hot air from the upper surface side of the web as required to efficiently dry it.
