PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device capable of completing battery charging at a prescribed termination current without depending on dispersion in an operation current or an operation status for each portable terminal device. SOLUTION: The portable terminal device, provided with a charging function for controlling charging of the battery 4 by operation of a controller 5 controlled by a charging control circuit 7, includes a charging current detector 8 for detecting charging current charging the battery, an operation current detector 10 for detecting an operation current supplied to a load of the portable terminal device from the battery, and a charging completion detector 11 for detecting the completion of battery charging by comparing a termination current correction value obtained by adding a detected value from the operation current detector 10 to a predetermined termination current value, with a detected value from the charging current detector 8.
