PORTABLE TELEPHONE/ELECTRONIC DICTIONARY LINKING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SUPPORTING MAIL PREPARATION AND BROWSE, PROGRAM, PORTABLE TELEPHONE AND ELECTRONIC DICTIONARY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support the preparation and browse of mail in a foreign language in a portable telephone. SOLUTION: A portable telephone/electronic dictionary linking system for supporting mail preparation and browse comprises: short distance transmission/reception parts 101, 102, 201 and 202 for performing short distance communication between the portable telephone 200 and the electronic dictionary 100; a reception buffer part 212 of the portable telephone for preserving the words of the foreign language and inserting them into the mail under preparation; a transmission buffer 122 of the electronic dictionary for translating words which can not be understood in the mail under preparation from a native language to the foreign language and preserving them; a transmission button 106 for transmitting the words of the foreign language to the reception buffer part of the portable telephone from the transmission buffer part of the electronic dictionary; a transmission buffer part 215 of the portable telephone set for preserving the words whose meaning can not be understood in the received mail of the foreign language; a reception button 105 for receiving the words of the foreign language from the transmission buffer part of the portable telephone to the electronic dictionary; and a display part 103 of the electronic dictionary for translating the received words of the foreign language to the native language and displaying them.
