PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing part rotating type color image forming apparatus wherein a developing rack driving source of small output capacitance is usable. SOLUTION: Regarding the developing part rotating type color image forming apparatus 10 wherein the developing part 52 constituted of a plurality of developing units 50Y, 50M, 50C and 50K supported by the rotatable developing rack 12 is rotated, and a color image is formed on an image carrier 22 by respective developing units 50Y, 50M, 50C and 50K, a toner storing part is not arranged in the developing units 50Y, 50M, 50C and 50K. The color toner corresponding to only the developing unit coming to a prescribed supply position P in accordance with the rotation of the developing rack 12 during the image forming operation is replenished to the dedicated replenishing ports 60 formed in the developing units 50Y, 50M, 50C and 50K from toner storing parts 54Y, 54M, 54C and 54K arranged above the supply position P.
