CAM DRIVING MECHANISM/IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing downtime and preventing excess toner consumption and deterioration resulting from driving by adjusting image quality adjusting time to absolute minimum under any operating environment. SOLUTION: The judgement of whether or not image quality adjustment operation is possible is carried out according to information on both of total time T1 from the previous image quality adjustment operation finishing time to the present time and total operating time T2 of a developing device or an image carrier from the previous image quality adjustment operation finishing time to the present time. In the case of a decision condition 1: T1≥T1 decision threshold_1 and T2≥T2 decision threshold_1, image quality adjustment is performed. In the case of a decision condition 2: T1≥T1 decision threshold_2, the image quality adjustment is performed.
