METHOD AND DEVICE FOR OPERATING INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for operating an exhaust gas treatment device in an internal combustion engine, on which high safety is guaranteed. SOLUTION: In these method and device for operating the internal combustion engine 10, an exhaust gas treatment device 15 is disposed in the exhaust region 13 of the internal combustion engine 10, and a reaction agent mixed with compressed air is injected in the exhaust region 13 on the upstream side of this side of the exhaust gas treatment device 15. The pressure of the reaction agent is raised to a target reaction agent pressure (pReaSW) by a reaction agent pump 33 and the reaction agent is subsequently distributed by a reaction agent distributing valve 36. The reaction agent pressure (pRea) generated on the upstream side of this side of the reaction agent distributing valve 36 is measured, and the time line drawing 60 of the target pressure of the reaction agent (pReaSW) is set within a range of diagnosis. The reaction agent pressure (pRea) measured during the diagnosis is compared with a prescribed threshold value, and when it exceeds the threshold value, an error signal (F) is provided.
