SOLUTION: This valve seat lapping device has a surface plate 21 on which a polishing member 21a is provided, a surface plate shaft 22 projected from and provided on the surface plate 21 and a surface plate guide 23 to support the surface plate shaft 22 free to rotate and carries out lapping of the valve seat by polishing a seat surface 13 of the valve seat 13 with the polishing member 21a, and an axial slippage preventive guide 27 to prevent slippage of a rotation axis of the surface plate 21 against a center of the valve seat 13 is provided on the valve seat side against the surface plate 21.
