Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of testing the nuclear quadrupole resonance of a sample containing quadrupolar nuclei and to discriminate a real nuclear quadrupole resonance response signal from the spurious signal brought about from the sample. SOLUTION: The method includes a step constituted so as to apply a pulse sequence, which contains at least one first pulse and one second pulse, to the sample to excite the nuclear quadrupole resonance and characterized in that the time between the first and second pulses is less than the length of the second pulse while the length of the second pulse is less than or equal to 0.5 times T1pof the quadrupolar nuclei and the second pulse locks the magnetization formed by the first pulse at least partially and a step for detecting a response signal. The time between the first and second pulses and the length of the second pulse are made sufficient to attenuate the spurious signal due to the first pulse at least partially before the response signal detecting step.
