SOLUTION: This method for producing the (Z)-1-phenyl-1-(N,N-diethylaminocarbonyl)-2-phthalimidomethylcyclopropane is characterized by reacting (Z)-1-phenyl-1-(N,N-diethylaminocarbonyl)-2-hydroxymethylcyclopropane with an ortho ester and a Broested acid and then reacting the product with a phthalimidizing agent.
