APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC IMAGE TRACKING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for automatic image tracking capable of simultaneously automatically tracking a target and revising a display position and a size of the target in response to a desire of a user. SOLUTION: An image input section 11 receives image data photographed by a camera unit 100 and an object detection section 12 detects an object region in the image. A section 13 for estimating the size of an object discriminates a position of the target in the object region to estimate a size of the target in the whole image. A zoom control section 14 controls a zoom mechanism of the camera unit 100 on the basis of the estimated size of the object on the image and the target size. A section 15 for receiving a target size receives a revision entry of the target size during the automatic tracking control. The zoom control section 14 carries out zoom control of the camera unit 100 according to the target size after the revision and continues the automatic tracking control. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
