SOLUTION: In the electroluminescent element providing an organic layer pinched between a pair of opposed electrodes on a substrate, and sealing glass on an element substrate with its periphery sealed with a sealing material, a filling layer is formed between a protective layer formed on the element substrate and the sealing glass, with a moisture content of 100 ppm or less, and a transmittance at 400 nm to 700 nm of 80% or more at a film thickness of 1μm, made of a transparent adhesive with a glass transition point of -10°C or less.
