MAP DATA PROVIDING METHOD AND MAP DATA PROVIDING PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map data providing program which causes a server machine to function so that the data volume of map data can be reduced as much as possible, when transmitting map block data including information relating to user's business from the server machine to a client machine as map data. SOLUTION: When information specifying some map block data 21 is sent from a client machine 10 to a server machine 20, the server machine 20 determines whether a business layer exists in the map block data 21 or not, and transmits the map block data 21 to the client machine 10 as map data as it is in the case of the existence of the business layer in the map block data 21 but transmits data resulting from removing an unnecessary layer corresponding to the business layer from the map block data 21, to the client machine 10 as map data in the case of the non-existence of the business layer in the map block data 21.
