Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diesel engine for lubricating fuel such as light oil which can deal with the realization of the high temperature of injection system return fuel in response to the realization of high-pressure injection of an injection system. SOLUTION: A diesel engine (1) for lubricating fuel such as light oil is equipped with a lubricating system fuel supply passage (8) for supplying fuel from an oil pan (3) to an engine lubricating system (7) by a lubricating pump (10), an injection system fuel supply passage (13) for supplying fuel from the oil pan (3) to the injection system (12) by an injection pump (15) and an injection system fuel return passage (16) for returning to the oil pan (3) the injection system return fuel after the fuel is supplied to the injection system fuel supply passage (13). A heat exchanger is arranged in the injection system fuel return passage (16) so that the injection system return fuel whose temperature is made high due to the high-pressurization in the injection system (12) can be cooled.
