PASSENGER CONVEYOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor capable of sensing the moving speed of passengers and also assuring a safe operation through sensing of the situation that passengers are congested or anybody has tumbled. SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor is equipped with a first passenger sensing means 18A and a second passenger sensing mean 18B to sense the moving speed of passengers traveling on a get-on/getoff floor 8A (8B) on the sides about the width direction and also a third passenger sensing means 19 to sense passage of any passenger on the side nearer the footboard than the first and second sensing means, wherein the three sensing means are arranged able to sense the passenger individually, and the arrangement further includes a control device to control the operation on the basis of the time detected by the first thru third sensing means and the reference time.
