OPTICAL DISK DEVICE AND METHOD OF RECORDING AND/OR REPRODUCING OPTICAL DISK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of shortening the time, after an optical is inserted into the device until the recording or reproducing of the data is started. SOLUTION: The optical disk device has an optical pickup 5 which records or/and reproduces data, by irradiating the optical disk 1, having a management information region recorded with management information for managing the data, with a laser, drive means 6, 7 which drive the optical pickup 5 in the radial direction of the optical disk 1, and a conveying means 2 for conveying the optical disk 1 from the outside to the inside of the device or from the inside to the outside, and moving the optical pickup 5 close to the disk management information region in parallel, while conveying the optical disk 1 from the outside of the device to the inside of the device.
