BILL DISCRIMINATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously operate a bill discrimination device without disenabling use of all bill discrimination devices in an island even when a bill recycling system for recovering a bill conveyed to the outside of the bill discrimination device is failed. SOLUTION: The bill discrimination device 1 is provided with a branch gate 5 for switching the received bill to be conveyed to the outside of the bill discrimination device 1 or to be stored in a bill storage 8 at the inside, and an actuator 6 and a control part 9 receives instruction from an island controller of the bill recycling system to control the actuator 6. Thereby, the branch gate 5 is operated and it can be switched such that the discriminated bill is linearly advanced or is conveyed to the bill storage 8 at the inside. Thereby, when the bill recycling system is failed, it can be automatically switched to storage of the bill by the bill storage 8 at the inside and it can be also selected such that the bill discrimination device 1 is switched to the internal storage by the intention of a store side.
