Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically and intelligently configure monitor-related setting of a computer system upon connection of a monitor or another display mechanism. SOLUTION: Monitor configuration can include one or more display mechanisms, and their video setting, relative positioning and power scheme data. When the monitor is plugged into the computer system or unplugged from the computer system, a manager component of the monitor is notified, and determines the current configuration based on a monitor identifier etc. When previous monitor configuration data is detected, a previous monitor configuration is applied. When exact matching is not found, configuration data is constructed based on similar configuration data that is persisted, or by querying for capabilities and iterating as necessary to find a video mode that the video card and monitor can use.
