MOLTEN METAL PROTECTING MATERIAL, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, AND ITS REGENERATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten metal protecting material, having a wide range of alternatives of a material constituting a molten metal protecting material itself, free from separation and having high durability, its manufacturing method, and a regenerating method thereof. SOLUTION: This molten metal protecting material 10 comprises an anticorrosion portion 11 wherein metallic oxide and/or metallic salt 112 is fixed to a surface portion 111 of a fireproof ceramic base material 12. This manufacturing method comprises an impregnating process for infiltrating a water-based solution including a metallic element into at least the surface portion of the fireproof ceramic base material, and a fixing process for fixing the metallic element in the impregnated water-based solution by converting it into metallic oxide and/or metallic salt. This regenerating method comprises an infiltration process for infiltrating the water-based solution including the metallic element into at least the surface portion of the molten metal protecting material having the anticorrosion portion, used in a state of being kept into contact with the molten metal, and a fixing process for fixing the metallic element in the impregnated water-based solution in a form of metallic oxide and/or metallic salt.
