Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid composition for the oral cavity, which exhibits excellent usability (dischargeability and retention), storage stability (appearance, pH and viscosity) and thickening effect by a Ca ion and sufficiently exhibits improvement effect on retention of a medicinal component in the oral cavity. SOLUTION: The liquid composition for the oral cavity comprises (A) an alginate that has 5-100 mPa s viscosity of 1.0% by mass of an aqueous solution at 20°C and has the content ratio of (M/G ratio) of D-mannuronic acid to L-guluronic acid in the molecule of 0.5-2.0 (mass ratio), (B) xanthan gum, (C) a phosphate represented by general formula (1) MnH3-nPO4(M is Na or K; n is 1, 2 or 3) and (D) water and has the mass ratio of (A) alginate/(B) xanthan gum of 1.0-12.0 and pH 6.0-8.5 at 25°C.
