Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear monitoring system capable of allowing a driver of a vehicle or the like to check a rear side of the vehicle, in particular, the right-rear and left-rear side situation by a monitor installed forward of the driver without looking a side-view mirror or the like, and to drive the vehicle or the like without anxiety. SOLUTION: In the system, a monitoring camera 1 is used, which is equipped with a right angle prism 3 to perform the total reflection of incident light by an inclined surface 8 and to change the direction of the incident light by 90°, and the image is transmitted to a monitor 7 installed in front of a driver by a cable 6.
