PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a high quality quartz glass product at a low cost without forming coarse satin-like fine unevenness of glass texture on the surface of the product when the quartz glass product is produced by heating/sintering a formed body for sintering, obtained by dry press-forming a glass material for sintering. SOLUTION: The glass material (1) for sintering, formed in a granular form by assembling a glass raw material powder (4) wherein a binder (2) containing one or both of a paraffin-based binder and a stearic acid-based binder is closely applied on the surface of each core (3) mainly comprising silica, is used.
