MANUFACTURING METHOD OF OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE AND DIE USED IN MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy, reliable and less costly manufacturing method of an optical waveguide and a manufacturing method of a die used in this manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of an optical waveguide 15 which is a junction 12 of a clad 11 and a core 9 made to guide light through the core 9 has a process of forming a photosensitive resist 2 on the support 1, a process of patterning the photosensitive resist 2 in the shape of the core, a process of machining the ends 3a of the patterned resist 2 into inclined surfaces 3, a process of providing die material 5 on this photosensitive resist 2, a process of separating the die material 5 and the photosensitive resist 2, a process of removing projections 6 formed around the inclined surfaces 3' made when transferring the inclined surfaces 3 on the die material 5, and a process of molding the core 9 by using the die 7 thus manufactured.
