Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a health food having laver as the raw material and to provide a method for producing the health food. SOLUTION: This method for producing laver jam as the health food comprises adding a prescribed quantity of water and sweetener to laver powder followed by kneading. The method for producing laver rice comprises a step of mixing 70-80 wt.% of laver powder with 20-30 wt.% of rice powder followed by kneading with water, and pressing and forming the kneaded product to a shape and a size of rice. The laver jam is used as the raw material of bread, rice cake, confectionery or sweetened and jellied bean paste, and has higher protein and lower calorie than general jam made of red beans. The laver jam can be supplied as between-meal snack for obesity and diabetes patients, and extremely effectively used for dietary therapy for diabetes patients restricted to glucide or obesity patients suffering from each kind of adult diseases caused by excessive weight.
