CLOCK-GENERATING DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system clock, which follows PCR of MPEG2-TS, at the reception of of digital broadcast, and provide a system clock as a fixed clock at disk reproduction. SOLUTION: When MPEG2-TS is treated (ST306A: YES), a first clock CK1 synchronized with PCR is generated (ST308-ST312). When reproduction, using highly accurate clock, is subjected to user designation (ST321 YES), a third clock CK3 as a fixed clock is generated (ST322). If reproduction with high-accuracy clock is not subjected to the user designation (ST321: NO), CK1 is generated (ST308-ST312). If the use of CK1 is stopped (ST314A: YES), CK3 is generated (ST322), after mediating a second clock CK2 synchronized with CK3 (ST318). COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
