PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image information processing system wherein a position on a recorded medium that outputs image data, and the outputted image data are associated with each other. SOLUTION: When printing original image data, a client 1 requests a server 2 to issue position information. The server 2 issues, to the client 1, the position information with which positions on recorded media can be uniquely specified. The client 1 generates position code image data on the basis of the issued position information, and combines them with the original image data to output the result. At such a time, the position information and information on the original image data are reported to the server 2, and the server 2 correspondingly manages the position information and the information of the original image data. When the client 1 reads image data in which the position information is embedded, the client 1 obtains the position information by separating and decoding the position code image data, and sends the position information to the server 2.
