MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR MANAGING DEVICE ON NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate and speed up acquisition of information for management about a device on a network. SOLUTION: A management block which generates management information in a management system provided on the network and an MIB gateway which acquires device information indicating an operating state of a printer to be managed are constituted as a functional block. The MIB gateway properly uses protocols for every printer according to requests of the management block to acquire the device information. The acquired information is stored as a virtual MIB by unit of group defined by segmentalizing MIBs of each printer. The management block accesses the virtual MIB to acquire the information. Thus, the management block can acquire the device information by a unified protocol.
