SOLUTION: This gas detector using a contact burn-up type gas sensor 1 as a detecting means comprises a gas flow inlet sealing means 4 for preventing inflow of inspected gas to the contact burn-up type gas sensor 1, and a measuring circuit 9 for setting, as the zero point, the indication value of the contact burn-up type gas sensor 1 in the state where the inflow of inspected gas is prevented.
